Direct answer
For a first men’s training drop, lock shoulder (tee), rise (short) and inseam before you debate the logo. Those three decide how the garment sits in motion. The mark is a surface. Change the shoulder after the film is cut and you buy another remake. Colour bulk still starts at 150 pieces per style per colour.

Three places the body tells the truth
I watch founders spend the first call on pantone and chest print. The garment fails later at the shoulder seam walking forward, at the rise when the athlete squats, or at an inseam that looked right on a flat sketch and short on a leg. Those three are the menswear. Everything else is applied on top.
Shoulder, on the tee
A training tee either clears the shoulder point or it pulls. Athletic blocks sit narrower; relaxed blocks give the arm a quieter seam. Pick one and write it down. AeroDry (about 140–180 GSM) shows shoulder error quickly because the cloth is light. CottonMotion hides it until wash, then the neck and shoulder argue with each other. Decide the shoulder on the remake, in the hero size, before anyone places a graphic across the chest.
Rise, on the short
Rise is where linerless shorts and 2-in-1 shorts stop being ‘shorts’ and start being a pattern. Too low and the waistband rolls when the pocket is loaded. Too high and the athlete feels a costume. MotionFlex shells (about 120–170 GSM) make a bad rise obvious in a squat. If you have not tried the rise on a body, you do not have a short programme. You have a colour.
Inseam, as a product decision
Five-inch and seven-inch inseams are different garments, not a dropdown. They change the pocket position, the hem sweep and how much thigh the brand is willing to show. Pick one hero inseam for season one. A second inseam is a second style, and it carries its own MOQ cell.
The logo gets the last meeting
When shoulder, rise and inseam are accepted, branding is a method choice: transfer, silicone or embroidery, one method, artwork revision named. See the branding note. Remake lead 7–9 working days. If marketing needs a logo for a deck this week, put it on a slide. Keep it off the pattern until the body is quiet.
Common mistakes
- Opening chest artwork while the shoulder is still a comment
- Offering two inseams in season one because the website has a filter
- Judging rise from a flat lay
Buyer advice
- Fit the tee and the short on the same person, same day
- Write shoulder, rise and inseam in the RFQ subject, not in a P.S.
- Keep the capsule guide for colour count; use this note for the body
Buyer FAQ
Questions procurement usually asks next
Can one tee fabric cover the short?
Usually no. Tee jerseys and short shells are different platforms. Name both.
What if our athlete is between sizes?
Still cut the first remake in L unless your size curve is genuinely built around another size. Grade from a measured core.
Do we need both a 5-inch and a 7-inch?
Not in the first colour PO. One inseam. Add the second when the first sells.
